Saturday to Monday in Switzerland (10 days) - must be in Zug Tuesday and Wednesday for work

I've never been to Switzerland before and am planning a trip to Switzerland in May. I will need to be in Zug on Monday night for work there on Tuesday and Wednesday and will be flying into and out of Zurich on Saturday and Monday.

I am open to catching a train to elsewhere in Switzerland on Saturday. Where should I go? What do I have time for from Saturday through Monday and Thursday through Monday? Please help me plan my trip.

How about this:

  • Saturday land Zürich - train to Luzern (~1½ hours) - 2 nights Luzern. Boat trip on lake, Look round town, trip up local mountain (Titlis, or Rigi, or Pilatus.
  • Monday late afternoon train to Zug (3 trains per hour, takes 20-30 minutes) - 3 nights in Zug.
  • Thursday morning train to Berner Oberland (choose one of the usual suspects, one of Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, Mürren, Grindelwald) - 4 nights. Take the route via the Brünig Pass and Meiringen, very scenic.
  • Monday early train direct to Zürich airport. If you have a morning flight it may be necessary to spend the last night at Zürich airport.
