Can I take a train from BERN direct to Rumlang?
The Holiday Inn Express at Zurich Airport - aka Rumlang is our final destination?

No direct trains. You'll have to change at the Zurich HB. Simple and the trains run frequently.

I've stayed at that hotel twice. Very easy to get there from the Rumlang station. But yes, you would need to change trains at the HB.

If you are looking up times of trains on www.sbb.ch beware the the correct spelling is Rümlang. Ü and U are two different letters in German. Ruemlang is a valid alternative spelling if you don't have a ü on your keyboard, Rumlang is WRONG and may confuse the website search.

There are direct trains from Bern to Zurich airport. The Holiday Inn Express has a free shuttle to the hotel.
