We are taking a river cruise leaving from Basel on June 14. We will arrive in Zurich at 11:00am on June 12.
We will have some time to see some of Basel before we leave on the cruise.
When we get to Zurich, we would like to see the city and would welcome any points that should not be missed. Our time is limited I know. Would a city tour be a good thing to do? Where would you suggest staying? We are not too picky where we sleep because we won't be in our room that long. I imagine we will train to Basel. Should we stop and see "stuff" on the way?

There is enough to keep you occupied in Zurich for 2 days. The fast trains make the run to Basel in 53 minutes. There is very comprehensive tourist information office in the hauptbahnhof. Two museums I visited while waiting for trains were the Landesmuseum (Swiss history) across the street, and the Kunsthaus (art museum) is a couple of tram stops away.
