Ridge hike near Wengen: Schynige Platte vs Augstmatthorn

I love a good ridge hike, planning on a trip in September this year while staying in Wengen, and will briefly be in Lucerne later on (planning on Stoos ridge hike there likely).

We are wanting a safe, moderate difficulty hike that does not require any equipment. Ideal length would be around 2-4 ish hours. Coming by public transit from Wengen. Definitely want those dramatic ridge views.

It looks like there's a shorter Augstmatthorn hike involving taking a bus up to Lombachalp making the hike around 4 hours ish total with breaks.

Looks like Schynige Platte panoramic trail would be around that length as well, maybe a bit shorter.

Has anyone done either or both of these? The Schynige Platte panoramic hike has a lots of good reviews and seems solid all around, easy to get to. However the photos I've seen on the ridge of the Augstmatthorn look incredible and more stunning at least in pictures. Does attempting both in one day make sense?

Thanks!

No, you can't do both in one day. Both are stunning but are going to be different experiences. SP is a scenic open air cog train + ridge hike + multiple routes you can combine to make it 2-8 hours, whatever you prefer. Augst requires more regular trains + buses and is a specific route.
