Does anyone know what hotel the Best of Switzerland is using for Murren this year? I'm on the tour in September and currently have reservations in Murren for 3 more nights after the tour ends. Now I'm wondering if that's the best location for us as it seems more 'out of the way' for touring on our own to sites not covered during the tour.

I was on this tour in May and we stayed at Hotel Blumental in Murren, if that helps at all.

Rick Steves tours uses a variety of hotels in Murren, or at least they have in the past. Hotel Jungfrau and Hotel Alpenruh are ones I have stayed in previously.

I just got back. The hotel in Murren is called Hotel Blumenthal. Really nice. Our view was of the Alps and a balcony.. looked like a postcard..didn't seem real. I would stay there... Its great because you can hike to Gimmenwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen.... and those hikes take a day or 1/2 day.. (its very tiring and its still hot in September) so stay put in Murren .so many great restaurants and its just heaven! enjoy!!

Thanks for your reply. I booked several months ago Hotel Bellevue which has changed hands and is now the Drei Berge. Based on others comments, the people aren't from the area but at least I'll get familiar when I'm there with Rick's group.
