Greetings All...we will be in Lucerne in mid July on our anniversary....I'm looking for a nice restaurant on the lake one can recommend for a special celebration...your ideas would be appreciated...thanks in advance.

Do you know how to use Tripadvisor? You'll see most restaurants listed with complete reviews from lots of people. You can also see maps of their locations and usually a link directly to the restaurant website.

You can use the. "Scenic view" option on the left side of the Tripadvisor restaurant page to search for lakeside restaurants. Olivo ( in the casino) and Scala ( in Hotel Montana) are across the lake from town, with views over the lake and Pilatus. One couple wrote a review of Scala including how well they were treated for their anniversary. It is one of the top-rated restaurants in Luzern.
You might also look at Opus, which has a terrace right on the river, just up from the famous angled bridge. We had a nice lunch there a few years back.

I second the suggestion of Restaurant Scala, in the Hotel Montana, recommended to me by a local. Art deco decor, and beautiful view of city and lake.

I'd recommend Balances near the wooden bridge. Very nice service and good food. It is located in the Hotel des Balances.
