Resort Condo in Haute Nandaz

We have a timeshare that we use when we travel and have been thinking we may want to trade a week of our time for a week in Switzerland. Most of the timeshare resorts listed on RCI in Switzerland are in places that are very remote and nearly inaccesible by public transportation. I did find one resort in Haute Nendaz in The Valais region. It is accessible by train from Sion which is north of Haute Nendaz and from Sion one can go by train to Geneva and connect to other part of Switzerland. That region is east of Martigny and north of Zermatt.

My question to anyone familiar with this region and public transportation in the area is: Would it be feasible to have lodging at a resort in Haute Nendaz and use it as homebase and use the train or buses to go to other areas in the region such as back to the Geneva area for a day and down to Zermatt, etc OR would the use of trains and buses in a place like this require too much travel time just to get where you are going to negate its worth in savings in lodging?

I am torn as to whether or not to do such a thing but thought I would inquire and see if anyone has ever used a timeshare resort for lodging in Switzerland and found it satisfactory as homebase for further exploration. Thanks.

I've been there in ski season. The 362 bus runs about every hour to/from the Sion train station and takes 40 minutes. Haute Nendaz is up on the mountain with wonderful views of the Rhone valley below. So it is not super convenient for visiting elsewhere in Switzerland. It is a resort for people to come there from elsewhere in Switzerland to relax, hike, mountain bike, and just generally chill.
