We are traveling from Washington DC to Zurich through Brussels do we have to check passports or customs in Brussels? we have a 2 hour layover.
You will go through Passport control in Brussels, since that will be your first entry to the Schengen area. Customs is not a concern, since you'll like have "nothing to declare".
