Hi,
My husband and I are planning a 5-6 day Switzerland trip with our 2 kids (young adults) in early April. We can either fly into Zurich or Geneva from London on the 7th. We have our return flight to the US on Apr 13th from Milan, Italy. This will be our first trip to Switzerland. Reading through these forums it doesn't not seem like April is an ideal time for travelling but this is what we have to work with. We were thinking of starting our trip in Zurich and ending in Lugano so we could take a easy train or bus ride to Milan for our return flight. We would like to do some hiking, take scenic train rides and maybe spend a day at a ski resort for my kids to ski. hubby wants to do paragliding if possible. Any suggestions for how to plan this trip would be greatly appreciated.
April can be lovely in lakeside towns, and lower mountains. Not so much in the mid to higher mountains (hiking).
Spring flowers will be blooming!
Far fewer crowds!
Look into Lucerne, and their local mountain Pilatus. Brienz or Montreux.
Would you consider Pontessina for skiing, from which you could take the scenic Bernina Express to Tirano, Italy,
Onto Varenna, Lake Como, ( sleep a few nights),
Then one hour regional train to Milan?
Enjoy the scenery, safe travels!
