Hello - just booked a car rental for a few days, added Collision Damage Waiver and the total price still seems very inexpensive. Are there additional fees I’m going to be surprised by when I go to pick up the car?
Are you willing to share the details like what agency you rented from, how many days, and the total price quoted?
Sure - the reservation is with Sixt, from Sat morning to Tuesday morning, price with tax/fees is $171.00. Then another $52 for the collision damage waiver. Unlimited mileage.
The only thing I can think of, and it is not expensive, is that you need a vignette for driving in Switzerland.. https://www.ch.ch/en/vehicles-and-traffic/how-to-behave-in-road-traffic/motorway-vignette/
Wish I'd had a rate like that last week where 6 days in a Corolla cost me almost $800 in TX.
If you rent a car in Switzerland, it will come with a Swiss vignette.
Be very careful upon checking out and in. Make sure you photograph every ding and scratch, no matter how small. Do not return the car unattended. I have not rented from Sixt in Switzerland, but Enterprise at the airport is a total scam. There is a long thread in Tripadvisor about this horrible agency. There are also some Sixt agencies in Germany that accuse customers for damaging their rental cars.
BTW, did you check whether you booked a manual or automatic shift?
