Will be arriving in Geneva from a direct flight from EWR and from what I have been reading, we will have to register with the new EES system on our arrival it the Geneva airport. I will be traveling with my younger brothers who has some learning disabilities and and wanted to ask if I will be able to assist him in registering in the EES system. I would only be explaining the step ps he will need to do.
Yes of course. Simply explain the situation to the agent if they should question you.
Entry could occur one of two different ways, first, you may use the kiosks, I am sure there would be no problem having him be with you as you do yours, then assist him with his. As the previous poster stated, if questioned, just explain the situation. The other is that you may simply go to a manned booth, again, I would suggest you go first, then explain to the officer the situation. It used to be that you could approach as a family group, but now they are pretty insistent that it is one at a time.
My husband and I went up to the passport officer together last month in both Amsterdam and Berlin. They’re going to check your passport, take your photo, have you press your hand on a pad for fingerprints and ask about travel. I’m sure the officer will understand if you explain and let you answer the travel questions and if necessary help with fingerprints, it might take several attempts. They do have a tendency to be gruff but I haven’t ever seen them mean.
