Rail Pass for Geneva - Montreaux - Wengen - Lucerne - Zurich

Hi - I am trying to decide which travel pass is best for my trip. I will be traveling at the end of this month (August).

My itinerary is as follows:

  1. Day 1 - Fly into Geneva -> straight to Montreaux
  2. Day 2 - Montreaux
  3. Day 3 - Montreaux to Wengen
  4. Day 4 - 5 - Wengen
  5. Day 6 - Wengen to Lucerne
  6. Day 7 - Lucerne to Zurich

I was originally going to get the swiss pass, but understand that many of the cable cars in the Wengen/Interlaken area are not covered by this. I looked into the Bernese Oberland pass which appears to cover most travel around Wengen and most of the travel between the rest of the locations I will be visiting.

Additionally, I am trying to figure out the best way to break out 3 days in the Jungfrau region based in Wengen.

The time of year you go to Switzerland is a factor in what kind of pass you should get.
The cable cars do not run all year round.
The least you should get is the Half Fare Card.
