Rail pass for 5 days not continuous.

Hi
I’m doing the 12 days Switzerland tour arriving 2 days early and staying 3 days more after. Should I buy the half fare card or the Swiss travel pass flex? I plan to travel to mt Rigi , mt Pilatus and Staternhorn. Then after Bern, I plan to go for day trips to Thun, and Murten. Then , Zurich and possibly Liechtenstein. I need to figure out the right pass to save.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Take a pass on Liechtenstein, there's no "there" there.

There is a 4-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex costing 323 CHF. You can go Bern to Thun and back with an 8-zone Libero Day Pass costing 36.80 CHF.

You really need to map out your journeys to see if a Half Fare Card works for you. You need 240 CHF of undiscounted tickets to make it pay. There might be some other strategies to save a few Francs.

A round trip to Murten is 28.40 CHF. So maybe a 3-day Flex Pass at 267 CHF is in order.

When we did the RS Swiss tour we went to Murten. Have they taken it off the itinerary? Unless you mean Murren? Just checking, as some folks do go back to Murren after the tour. Are you flying into/ out of Zurich?
This is a great tour and you're in for an incredible experience. I fell in love with all things Swiss during our tour, and have been back several times since.
Safe travels!

Thanks Sam and Pat
It seems it is not advisable to buy a pass. I’ll take a pass on Liechtenstein. So Murten is part of the tour? I’ll just go to Thun after Bern.

I don't see Murten in the current Best of Switzerland itinerary.
