Rail Interlaken to Milan

We are a party of 5 needing to travel from Interlaken to Milan on Sunday, 25 June. We all have both the Swiss Half Fare Card and the BO Pass. I have tried booking on the SBB Rail site, but no luck. Any suggestions? Should I be booking only to the Swiss/Italy boarder, then with the Italian Rail system?

Perhaps try booking to Tirano, Italy, right over the Swiss border? Someone here will actually know, I'm guessing. Have a great trip!

Your BO pass gets you to Domodossola, Italy - so you need to be booking a ticket from Dom to Milan, not Interlaken to Milan. You just get on the train without a ticket in between Interlaken and Dom and show your pass. You start showing a paid ticket over the border in Dom. Check pricing for this ticket on SBB and trenitalia. You should probably get through trenitalia. 😊

Beware, with a B.O. card, you must travel on the old route via Kandersteg. If you do not do that, SBB will route you on the fast train from Spiez using the new Loetschberg Base Tunnel and you will be traveling with an invalid ticket.

If you want to take the fast train, then put in that you have Half Fare Cards for each traveler and buy tickets from Spiez to Milano Centrale. There are several direct EC trains, so it will save you some time for a bit more money.

I missed clarifying that. Thanks, Sam. Looks like roughly 28chf per person to save about an hour on the route at quick glance. Or go through Kandersteg for free if you're not in a rush.
