Quick Swiss Pass question

My wife and I be traveling to Switzerland in late Sep/early October this year (as part of a monthlong European trip), and working out the itinerary and costs right now. I understand (for the most part) the difference between the X-day Swiss Pass, and the half-fare pass. However, I keep seeing people on the forum refer to a month-long half-fare pass for 120 CHF; when I go to the www.sbb.ch site, the shortest duration I can find for the half-fare pass is a one-year pass for 175 CHF.

I appreciate the community educating me on what I'm missing here... I have already learned volumes from the great people on here....

Thanks!
Wade

I just read that the Rick Steves site sells monthly half-fare passes....is that the only place to buy them? It likely would make sense for us, given that our itinerary has us entering Europe via Zurich...thanks!

The one-month Half-Fare Card is sold both here and in Swiss train stations, but only to tourists. Most residents buy the one-year version.

Thanks all....Ken, I am familiar with the train transportation pages here on the RS site; that's how I found the link to the Swiss rail site. I just could not find a link to get me to the 1 month pass until Carol's post.

Again, I knew I'd get the info I needed from this great community. :)
