Question: Golden Pass Reservation & another about the Swiss Rail Pass

All the queries about the Swiss Rail Pass have been helpful for me. The best choice for me is the 15 day Swiss Rail Pass purchased in advance but I'm still confused which vendor to purchase it from. Rick Steves offers a $478.50 and MySwissAlps offers 429 CHF (@$461).
Has anyone spotted a better deal or a discount on another site?

Lastly, I will be taking the Golden Pass train from Interlaken to Montreux. I realize my Swiss Rail Pass will cover this but do I need to make a seat reservation for the panoramic car? Is that reservation fee covered with my Swiss Rail Pass? I'd especially like to reserve one of the VIP seats offered between Zweisimmen and Montreux.

Carrie, sbb.com is another option. Thanks. Their 15 day 2nd class fee is the same as MySwissAlps. I suppose all the sites have a very similar fee.

What would be the difference between the 'regular trains' and the 'Golden Pass' train between Zweisimmen and Montreux other than the Golden Pass train has the panoramic windows? Can any one share their experience when on this route?

Rhonda, In addition to the Panoramic train on the Golden Pass line there also is a Belle Époque train which also requires a reservation. The “regular” trains do not require a reservation.

For trains on the Golden Pass line it is not necessary to reserver seats. You can just board and pick a seat. There is no separate section of panoramic cars that require reservation. VIP seats are currently only available on a few Saturday and Sunday trains anyway.
