I'll be in Lucerne and Zurich this summer and am hoping to find places nearby that would be fun to visit without the hordes of tourists. I have no car. Thanks

In Luzern, take the ferry around the lake and stop at any or all of the towns along the way.

Hordes of tourists will be most everywhere... But I really have liked the southern ends off both the Lake of Lucerne and Lake Zurich. The region between those two lakes is also off most tourists beaten paths (excluding Rigi), although it is the cradle of the original Swiss Confederation.. Good Luck.
