Hello! We will be traveling from Lucern to Zurich. We fly out of Zurich at 7am. I see there are no trains this early.
Has anyone used an airport transfer? Its almost an hour and I think a taxi will be much more expensive.

Did you consider going the night before and staying at an airport hotel? The Radisson Blue is right at the airport.
Somebody else just posted about a transfer from Montreux to Geneva airport, almost the same distance and their hotel quoted them about 300 CHF.

That will make for a nerve racking night, and not much sleep.
There are a number of hotels right at the Zurich airport. Stay there after taking the train there the afternoon or evening before. That's what I did in a similar situation.

We stayed at the Raddison Blu Hotel at the Zurich airport the night before we left. Highly recommend and you can walk all of 5-10 minutes from the hotel to the terminal.

I don't know how I randomly came across this thread, but as a local Swiss living in Zug (right between Lucerne and Zurich), I thought I'd add a few notes:
There is a train from Zug to Zurich Airport at 04:26. Taking an Uber from Lucerne to Zug is much cheaper than going all the way to Zurich Airport by taxi. The train arrives at the airport at around 05:15, which is plenty of time for a 07:00 flight.
On weekends (Friday night to Saturday morning and Saturday night to Sunday morning), there's an hourly night train between Lucerne and Zurich throughout the night.

I love Zug and Cham, visit almost every year. I have friends in Baar and Zug.
You have a good suggestion for the OP, But I think that I would likely want to be at the airport the night before for a flight at 0700. 90-120 check in for short haul, 3 hours for long haul?
