Mid-April, My husband and I are disembarking a river cruise in Basel. We fly home from Zurich 3 days later. Any ideas for itinerary or place to stay for beautiful scenery, charm, and great food? Would prefer to stay in the same place all 3 nights.

Obvious choice is Luzern. Just over an hour from Basel by train, and a similar time direct to Zürich airport.
Old town, lake (with boat trips), mountains you can go to the top of by train or cable car (Pilatus, Rigi, Titlis).
