We plan on taking the Glacier Express from Zermatt and then the Bernina Express to either Poschiavo or Tirano for an over night stay before training back to Zurich. Which town would you recommend and which hotels? Thanks for any suggestions.. Jim S.

We did this 2 years ago...in two days! The Glacier Express is over 8 hours to Chur from Zermatt as i remember, just barely made our 7:30 dinner in Pontresina. We did the Bernina the next day. Stayed and dined at the Hotel Steinbock and enjoyed greatly in Pontresina. Looks like Tirano to Zermatt is 5 hour ish.
Note that my wife said she didn't really want to ride a train for a while!

I will only point out that since Poschiavo is in Switzerland and Tirano is in Italy, Tirano will be significantly less expensive as food and lodging go.
