Looking for opinions on Pontresina vs. Sils Maria for a 5 night stay in July. We love to bike and hike. It will be my husband, myself and our 14 year old son. We’ll have already stayed in Engelberg and Bettmeralp and will be coming from Lake Garda (which is a long journey). Seems like Pontresina is more convenient but Sils Maria may be more beautiful?

Pontresina is a beautiful town! We have spent time there twice. It is historic and filled with stone houses that are painted in a decorative style. Charming. I highly recommend a stay in Pontresina. We enjoyed staying at La Collina.

Sils Maria is small (barely a village) and inconvenient. Pontresina is pretty too, and has better connections to explore the region.
