Please help with itinerary for 2nd trip to Switzerland

Hi everyone! I am new to this site and hoping to receive some advice and input on a trip to Switzerland. My husband and I went on our honeymoon last summer to Lucerne, Ennetburgen, Wengen, and spent time in Lauterbrunnen and Brienz. We loved our time in all these wonderful places.

We are in our 30's and enjoy the mountains, lakes, strolling the streets, eating and drinking, and hiking. We loved our time so much we would like to plan another trip in early August, although we will only be able to go for 6 nights.

I could really use some help with getting started on a new itinerary. After seeing these amazing places, where should we travel to next?

Thanks so much in advance!

Lake Geneva is in the French-speaking region of Switzerland. Lausanne, Vevey, and Montreux are good home bases. The region has great food, lake-side strolls and nightlife, a blockbuster castle, vineyards, and easy access to modest mountain view (modest compared to the Berner Oberland). I also enjoyed visiting Morat (medieval cuteness), Avanches (Roman ruins), and especially Bern the capital.

Maybe try the French speaking side this time. Gruyeres, Vevey, Montreux, Les Diabrelets, Villars, Verbier.

Geneva is closest, but if you can get a nonstop to Zurich at a price you like, that works almost as well. United has nonstops to Geneva out of Newark, if your name is any hint. Both Geneva and Zurich have train stations right at the airport.

If you are interested in the French speaking part of Swiss, here's a link to the tourism website for the area. It lists the local festivals as well, which will give you a more local experience if interested.
