Hi. We are visiting Switzerland for two fixed meetings but hoping to see some of the country around these meetings. Dates are 29 August to 8 or 9 September depending on flight price.. We fly to Geneva (booked) on 29 August. Flying out either from Zurich or Basel. Fixed meetings are 31 August in Geneva and 5 September in Basel. Hotel for 5 September in Basel is booked for us.
About us: classical musicians and artists, interested in cities, architecture, views and landscapes. Not hikers though we can do an odd short one.
Our plan so far with questions:
29 August arrival. Should we be based in Montreux or Geneva? We want to visit: Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux and Chillon. Suggestion to be based in Geneva or Montreux until 2 September.
Next stage we want to explore mountains. 2 to 4 in Zermatt? Or Lauterbrunnen?
4 September travel to Basel.
4 to 5 September Basel
6 September to Wengen or Bern? Explore Bern and mountains.
This leave out Lucerne. We visited Lucerne for a concert and did a boat tour. Thanks for any advice or help
