Dear friends,
we three friends make a plan to visit Switzerland from 1st July to 5th July..Our plan goes like this:
1) 1st july : Arrival in Zurich ( about 1:00PM), then city and zurich lake tour
2) 2nd July : Departure to Luzern , visit luzern and nearby moutains and return back to Zurich in late evening
3) 3rd July :Departure to interlaken in early morning and visit town and lake
4) 4th July: Interlaken to Jungfrau
5) 5th July: Interlaken to geneva in early morning , city tour of geneva ,night stay at geneva and then next day early morning departure
Please help us to decide whether swiss rail pass will be beneficial to us? Can we add bern in above plan? or how can we modify our plan to enjoy more?
we have limited budget also
I would suggest staying in Luzern instead of Zürich:
1) 1st July : Arrival in Zurich ( about 1:00PM), leave bags at Zürich HB station then city and Zurich lake tour, train to Luzern for overnight.
2) 2nd July : visit Luzern and nearby mountains and stay in Luzern (2nd night)
3) 3rd July :Departure to interlaken in early morning (via scenic Brünig pass route) and visit town and lake. Possibly stay somewhere further into the mountains than Interlaken
4) 4th July: Interlaken (or wherever you are staying) to Jungfrau
5) 5th July: Interlaken to Geneva in early morning , city tour of Geneva ,night stay at Geneva and then next day early morning departure
For travel, investigate the Swiss half price pass (CHF 120 for 1 month), which gives you 50% reduction on al trains, including the Jungfrau.
