Does anyone have any tips/reccomendations for places to visit and what interesting valleys/views can be found in the area?
Also general tips about long roadtrips are much appreciated since this will be a first..
Also would appreciate reccomendations about whether I should change my area to Zermatt or perhaps something towards the northern parts...

When are you traveling?
Crans Montana is just so-so. Leukerbad is well known as a spa, but it's actually also just so-so. I highly recommend you change to Zermatt, which provides stunning, stunning scenery.
Kandersteg and Adelboden are cute, but you don't access them from Sierre.
That sounds like an idea... are there any high altitude villages in that area since I want to do some overnighting above 1,8k meters...
I am leaving late July/early August.
How about Engadin in SE Switzerland? It's very cute and less touristy (for international tourists).
