Planning long trip either start in Zurich or Paris and end in Paris

I plan in advance maybe to far in advance?
August 2023 for a month trip around a few places . Have to get to prague for a week and then still panning
Planning to fly into Zurich stay a 3 or 4 days to unwind and relax.
Fly to prague for a week
Still figuring the middle part of the trip
Ending in Paris for 6 days
Leave out of Paris

Is Zurich a good start?
Based on closer airport 15 minutes?
Cheaper flight direct from Philadelphia.
I have been tracking fares and they always seem to go up and hardly ever go down.
Is Zurich a comfortable city to enjoy for 4 or so days. Would stay in the historic area zone 1?

Thanks

Not too far in advance, but your goals are a bit vague in your description.

What are the places in Switzerland that interest you? What types of activities interest you? You can do quite a bit in one month. If you tell us more about your interests, we can give you better suggestions.

Zurich was not a city that particularly inspired me. So, I would be far more likely to land in Zurich, take the train to Luzern (you catch it right there at the airport- takes about an hour) and spend time in Luzern to begin my trip.

my wife will be in Czechoslovakia. So I was looking to fly into either Paris or Zurich to just get to Prague for the start of a month Lon trip that will end in Paris.
I fly out of Philadelphia and I like only non stop routes. which means wherever I arrive in Europe I need to fly on to Prague.
So I figured I would just spend a few days before flying on to Prague. maybe I just fly to Prague and get it over with ?
I like keep my trips as easy as possible not much into long plane travel.
I chose Zurich since it was a cheaper flight and the airport was closer?
thanks

sorry, I'm confused.

What do you mean by Zurich airport is closer? Closer to what?

It almost sounds like wherever you go, Paris or Zurich, you don't intend to go to nearby places? Is that right? So, for example, you'd rather spend 4 days in Zurich than going to Luzern, Bern, Basel or the Alps? Is that right? Or is it that you don't know what you would be missing?

Trying to understand your thought process....

just searching business class flights from Philadelphia non stop to the cities they fly to in Europe. At best price
Need to eventually get to prague around august 27th and leave out of Paris about 30 days later

I thought to make travel less strenuous I would fly to either Zurich or Paris and spend three or four days acclimating and taking in the flavors and sights. No rush.
Then fly on to prague
4-5 days prague
10 days around the country
Maybe Vienna for a 4-5 days
Then to France for the remainder 5-6 in each place we choose.
Ending in Paris for 6 days or so.

Zurich doesn’t seem very interesting.
And I think I always forget traveling takes time. So it may be better just bite the bullet and fly to prague directly rather than having a stopover.
I just not enjoying long plane flights or transfers.

Just trying to get insight if Zurich is a good stop over city on my way to prague.
Thanks

It's probably not cheaper if you have to add the costs of spending 4 days in a city you hadn't really wanted to stay, and then you add the cost of getting to Prague. Time is money.
