Planning a Swiss Trip by Rail

Starting from Zurich, planning for 9 days in the Berner Oberland (Murren, Wengen, and the surrounding mountains) to be followed by 2 days in Zermatt, then back to Zurich to leave the country. Trying to decide if a 1/2 fare pass plus a 10 day BO pass makes sense vs just a 1/2 fare pass for the entire stay. Thanks for your advice.

Off hand, I'd say get the 10-day BOP plus the HFC, the discount on the BOP will pay for the HFC, which you can use for other travel. You can use the 10th day of the BOP to get as far as Brig on the way to Zermatt going via Kandersteg.
