Passes and more passes?

Hi all. I would appreciate and thank you in advance for your advice. We are a family of 3 travelling for 10 days. Bern 2 nights, Lauterbrunnen 4 nights, Zermatt 2 nights, Annecy France 2 nights, fly out of Geneva.
We have rented a car to get from place to place. We know we will be leaving the car at train stations in Bern and Zermatt. I know the time in Lauterbrunnen and Zermatt will require purchasing of cable cars, furniculars, etc...

What is the best pass for this? Thanks!

If you are going to be buying a pass for cable cars, etc., I'm just curious if you've considered using a train to connect you to these cities, especially if you will be walking from the train station to your accommodations anyway.

I don't mean to evade your question on the passes. We had a Swiss Travel Pass which covered our transportation within cities (like cable cars) as well as between cities and some museums. (With a Swiss Travel Pass we went to the history museum in Bern and it paid for half the trip up to Schilthorn.

Others will be able to advise you better on which pass to get.

Look at the Half Fare Card plus the Berner Oberland Pass. The BO Pass will cover Bern and Lauterbrunnen area, with the Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn discounted (not free). The HFC will discount your trains/gondolas outside that area (Switzerland only).

I also discourage the rental car. Stayed 5 nights in the BO as part of a 3 week road trip. Parked the car and didn’t move it until we left. Trains are so easy, there’s really not a need to drive just to get “from place to place”. It won’t save you any money.

For most Swiss itineraries, but especially yours, a rental car makes no sense. Take the train. Experience Swiss life! And probably you’ll wanna opt for a half fare card.

Sorry for posting multiple threads. Not sure how the forum works. So we are going with the Half fare card. Since we have 4 days in Lauterbrunnen, should we also get the Berneroberland or the Jungfrau pass?
