Parka need in Murren?

We plan to spend a week in Murren mid September and wonder do we need a parka or something warmer than a light windbreaker jacket?

I doubt you'll need a parka, you may not even need a jacket except on some nights, but who can say. If you have layers, a light weight fleece or sweater and a waterproof shell, you should be fine.

Agree with Nancy. bring a fleece with you. We were there at end of September - did not need parka but did use a fleece and a light jacket together when we went up to Shilthorn ( I may be misspelling it) and Jungfrau. And used the fleece during evenings.
Dad had a light weight windbreaker type jacket; i like my Lands End Squall jacket.

Enjoy

That would depend on you. :-)

Are you someone who gets cold all the time and wears a heavy fleece while flying on a plane? Do you go to the beach and wear a hoody because the breeze is too chilly in August? Then yes, you will probably need a parka. Otherwise, probably not.

I found a light windproof jacket and long pants were all I needed to feel comfortable when I was there in early October a few years ago. It will of course depend on the weather so check right before you leave home for your trip and pack accordingly.

We were there in late September 2015 and I hiked in a tee-shirt some days and others in a thermal top layered under my (breathable) rain jacket. But it never rained, so we had great sun, even if chilly in the early AM. But I would not bring a parka. Just layer a tee, a fleece, and a rain jacket.

I doubt that you'll need a Parka there in mid-September, but as mentioned earlier that will depend on you to some extent and also to the weather at the time. I've been in that area as late as mid-October and was fortunate to get good weather during the days. However the nights were "chilly" so some layering is a good idea.

You might need a parka if your plans include sleeping exposed to the elements on the mountain summits. Otherwise, absolutely not! Leave it at home.
