Paprika Chips Found in US!!!

Last fall, several of us discovered the most amazing parika potato chips, at the Coop stores in Switzerland. They did not seem to be sold in the US. In fact, one OP liked them so much that she actually ordered a shipment from Switzerland!
Well, xmas morning, I found a few bags in my xmas stocking! My daughter had found them in a German specialty store in Redwood City, CA. They aren't quite as good as the ones we had in Switzerland [what is???] but they are pretty good. They are made by Lorenz, a German company, and were about $4.00 for a approximately 6 oz bag. www.lorenz-snackworld.com
Now I'm wondering if other stores that specialize in imported foods would carry them???
Good luck and happy New Years!

Hi Pat, What a nice Christmas surprise. 😊 Santa must have had a Switzerland theme this year, because I received Swiss chocolate and Swiss Francs in my stocking.

I used to buy Stockmeyer Speck and packages of Rösti from Germandeli.com. ( Now Trader Joe’s has the Speck so we get it there). German deli has the Lorenz Naturals paprika chips for $2.98 a bag:

But the “really good” ones may be these Lorenz Crunch chips in the 6 Oz. bag. Much less here than from Amazon:

If they are not as good as you remember, it may be the freshness (check the date on the bag). Or it may really be because you are not in Switzerland.

I get the same brand at a local German food store as well. Cost Plus seems the most likely chain to carry them but nothing so far. Wonder how many letters they need to make this happen?

Zweifel and the Migro's brand are the most popular paprika chip in Switzerland. If Lay's would drop the molasses in their BBQ chips, they both would have about the same ingredients.

I am addicted to Fonzies, an Italian snack (made in Germany) that is basically a white cheese snack much like Cheetos only baked.

This reminds me of our first day shopping in an Aix supermarket and laughing at the PRINGLES EMMENTALER CHEESE--bought every one! They also make Paprika Pringles. I'd love to try Lorenz paprika chips IN SWITZERLAND. Maybe if you keep the empty bag and pull it out to view occasionally. . .

Thoughtful daughter!

Found Paprika chips at several Mexican grocery stores in the Houston TX area. Maybe not the exact same, but good enough. :-)

Just arrived in Switzerland last night and stocked up on the required stash of paprika chips…for our daughter’s exam study period of course, not for me…

Thanks a lot Nelly. Now you have me thinking about these again. 😊 might be time for another on-line order.
