Hello. I have seen your travel tips on packing thank you. I was wondering if there is anything specific about what to pack for in July on your 12 day Switzerland trip. Thank you
It really does depend on where you are going on the trip. can you give us more details on your itinerary?
Good walking shoes - personally I take two pairs to alternate.
A windbreaker/ rain jacket
A fleece jacket that can be layered under windbreaker or worn alone.
I was there late July last year; up in the mountains you'll probably want a sweatshirt and long pants some of the time, and maybe a raincoat available. It can get cool at night, and definitely a chance of rain. (It poured the day we drove from Grindelwald to Lucerne.)
The biggest key for clothing, even in July, is layers. It can get quite hot during a sunny high alpine day and when you’re hiking or down at low altitude in a city or lake you can easily be in t-shirt & shorts, but at night it can get chilly. This is my basic packing list….

In Switzerland everything has to be bought at a pharmacy. They don’t sell anything like advil, cold medicine, triple antibiotic ointment, itch relief, antacids, etc. at the grocery stores, so I bring a small miscellaneous bag to avoid having to go to a bigger city for things we’re used to grabbing at the grocery store in the US because the smaller mountain villages don’t have a pharmacy.
