Overnight stop between Murren and Paris

My husband and I are planning a 16 day trip in late Sept./early Oct. We are flying into Munich and out of Paris, and have planned overnight stops in Munich, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Fussen, and Murren. What would be a good place to stop, explore and spend 1 night between Murren and Paris? We will have a car. We are more interested in seeing quaint villages and scenery than big city life--saving that for Paris!

Either Colmar in Alsace or Beaune in Burgundy are accessible by car or train, have charming architecture and museums, and are a short drive from additional wine-region villages.

Since you have a car, this is the most excellent place to stay outside Beanue/Dijon

And check out Rick's suggested wine drives from Beaune, we did one of the loops and it took us through wonderful scenery. Also in Beaune visit the hospice and the Patriarch wine cellars.
