Hi, we are doing the 14 day Best of Europe tour in June. I am making reservations for various recommended excursions, not included as part of the tour. The information on Switzerland notes an optional Schilthorn morning excursion but states "Reservations required at least 24 hours in advance - let your tour guide know if you are interested." There's a link to the Swiss Skyline Website but I don't see the option to purchase tickets specifically for that. It sounds like we make those reservations through the guide during the tour. I just want to make sure this is correct.

Yes, that's how I understand it. A common thing for guides to do on a RS tour.

Your guide will probably discuss this at the initial meet-up especially if you mention it, lol. And yes, on both my 21 Day Best of Europe and GAS tours the guide organized the gondola ticket purchases for us and we paid him back the exact cost of the tickets. Both times the guide took us up and then we returned back down on our own.
