One ticket bought in person for Spiez to Gimmelwald?

I'm planning to travel to Gimmelwald from Milan, Italy on the 28th of May and planning to return by the night of 29th May. I can book train tickets up to Spiez on an Italian train booking site. My questions are:

  1. Can I buy a single ticket at Spiez train station that will cover the entire Spiez - Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen - Stechelberg - Gimmelwald journey? If possible, would a return ticket allow me to make my journeys at any time during the two days?
  2. Would it be cheaper to buy point-to-point tickets along the way than to buy one ticket?

Thanks a lot!

Just buy one ticket. Even in a little country like Switzerland, its a short trip. If you tried to buy individual tickets along the way, you'd probably miss a connection at Interlaken Ost and have to wait a half hour for the next train. And without going through the exercise, I think it would cost a little bit more to buy individual tickets. Look and see if you can get a Super Saver ticket if you want to save money. They will be on sale now at www.sbb.ch/en.

All Swiss stations sell tickets on all methods of Swiss public transportation. I see that you have the routing settled, so be sure to mention that when buying the ticket, or you may find yourself routed via Mürren. You can also do it yourself at any ticket machine.

You can buy a ticket at any Swiss station to any other Swiss station, regardless of the number of trains or different railway companies involved. No need and usually no advantage to buying in advance on the internet (Usually same price).
Tickets are valid on any train on the date shown on the ticket, by the route shown (usually the fastest by default).

Italian rail sites only sell tickets for Italian and cross border trains, not for "foreign" trains, which is why you can't buy your ticket past Spiez.

Thank you so much for your very helpful replies! :)

I found out that the walk from Murren is really pretty. So decided to go to Murren via Grutschalp. Bought a ticket from Milan to Murren via Grutschalp. From there I'm planning to walk to Gimmelwald, then take the cable car to Stechelberg, maybe walk to the Trummelbach falls and hop on the bus if I get tired after that.

Any idea what the cable car fare would be from Gimmelwald to Stechelberg? Everywhere I look online, they show prices for the ride to Schilthorn and back, which is a lot of money. I'm assuming this part of the ride should not be as expensive, but can't find any information about small journeys on the cable car line.
