Offically confused...half fare card

I registered on SBB, and have the app downloaded. Want to buy half fare card for me (can do!) but trying to add my husband (can't do because it asks for some registration number?))

In the app, I can add a person but it makes me check whether or not he has a half fare card. He doesn't, because I can't figure out how to buy one for him. But if I put that he doesn't have one, (which he doesn't, but I want to buy him one.) I guess I'm wondering if I put no he doesn't, then how do I buy one and say he does...

I thought I could manage both of us through my app. I'm over thinking and/or confused.

you do not need to have his half fare card on your app in order to buy ticket for him. Wether you are entitled to half fare travel is checked on the train, not during purchase. So he should just go and create an account for himself on the website, and use that the buy the half fare card, and then make sure he has it with ready to show to the conductor when you are travelling.

You can easily add him to our app as a co traveller, indicate that he has the HFC and buy half price tickets. It doesn't even matter if he doesn't have it yet, which keeps the option open to just buy the HFC when you are here.

I travel like that with my wife quite often. I buy both tickets. When the conductor comes I show both tickets, and she shows here Half Fare Card...
