We will be traveling from Montreaux to Lucerne. I read about the new fancy Explorer train where you don't have to change in Zweisimmen. Has anyone tried this yet? Is it good for this scenic train trip or should we try to book on the vintage train that I also read about. In either case, which is the best side of the train to sit for this trip?
Thanks for the link. I was wondering how I was going to find the new train on the Swiss RR site. I get overwhelmed when I look at that.
The new train is called the "Golden Pass Express", and it is a very nice train, and taking it avoids having to change trains two times.
The "Classic" train is very nice too, but it is not an old train, as some people think. The cars are rather new, having been build to resemble old style cars...
