New cable car to Eigergletscher

In researching hikes for our upcoming trip, I found that a new lift is operating from Grindelwald. It takes you above Kleine Scheidegg to Eigergletscher where you can connect to the train to the Jungfraujoch or hike. This cuts 47 minutes off the trip by train from Interlaken-Ost to the Jungfraujoch. The new lift is included in the Berner Oberland Regional Pass.

Hi Laurel I got a chance to take on the way back from the Jungfrau last week. I noticed it first while attempting the Eiger Ultra Trail which I could not complete. Have tried the Royal trail from Männlichen.?

Hi Jazz. By “Royal trail” do you mean the outdoor upper deck of the Männlichen lift?

That is the standard trail up to the Maennlichen Gipfel (“little peak”) viewpoint from the top of the cablecar coming up from Wengen. They seem to have decorated it with a castle theme. Not sure what the “royal” connection might be, but it is a nice little detour from the Maennlichen to KS walk.

Pat, the gondola from Wengen to Männlichen has the upper deck. The one form Grindelwald to Eigergletscher does not. to my knowledge.
