Hi there. We are traveling to Switzerland in July of this year. Our trip begins with a river cruise from Amsterdam. We will be in Interlaken for 3 nights and Lucerne for two nights. Before flying home, we will spend one night in Zurich. We will travel between cities in Switzerland via train, but don't have a set plan for making that happen, yet. Would love to hear tips, tricks, good eats and drinks (we are foodies). We want to see the sights, but we aren't planning any risky adventure activities :). Would love to hear from those who have traveled there. Thanks so much!
I would not stay in Interlaken. Stay up in the mountains in Wengen or Murren about 45 minutes away. You won’t regret it. You’re going to Switzerland for those epic mountains, so stay in the mountains. Interlaken is a transportation hub with little charm.
Next, Lucerne is 45 minutes from Zurich by train, so you really don’t need to spend the last night in Zurich unless your flight is very early. Spend another night in Wengen or Murren instead.
