Need help for planning

Hi,

I am planning 10-11 days in Switzerland then go to Paris (stay there for 4 or 5 days). I like hiking and mountain,.etc. Not sure which is plan is better (see below 2 plan)? I don't have car and will take train from one place to one place, is that possible? If so what train I should take and what pass I should buy to save money? Also what train to Paris from Lausanne or Murren?

the plan A:
the order is: 1) Luzern (2 day) --> 2) Gimmelwald or Mürren (3 days) --> 3)Zermatt (3 days)--> 4)Gruyeres, Lausanne (2 days) then Paris

The plan B:
1) Luzern (2 days) --> 2) Gruyeres, Lausanne (2 days) --> 3) Zermatt (3 days)--> 4) Gimmelwald or Mürren (3 days) then Paris

or Plan C :what should be the correct order if I want to cover Luzern, Gruyeres, Zermatt and Gimmelwald or Mürren then to Paris.

Thanks,
Allen

Thanks,
Allen

Plan A, It is a logical geographical order and you end up in Lausanne where you can get a direct TGV to Paris.

Allen,
I like plan A because you end up in Lausanne which is closer to Paris. At that point, you should continue on to Geneva, where you can catch a bullet train to Paris that will take 3 hours, Geneva to Paris. For that train only, you need to get reservations and buy in advance. See www.seat61.com for details. You can buy using trainline.eu and the sooner you buy, the cheaper the tix.

In Lausanne, you might enjoy the art musuem that houses the art done by mental patients.

see https://www.artbrut.ch/en_GB

For Murren vs Gimmelwald, realize that the latter is very small, with no store, while Murren has more to see and do. But if you are famous like Rick Steves, you would probably enjoy the more isolated Gimmelwald.

Trains will get you everywhere you want to go for your entire trip.
If you wish to see my favorite hikes around Murren and Zermatt, send me a private mail. (Click on your name in the upper right of this page to read and send mail.)

Thanks Allen & Sam. I will stay at plan A. So will I able to get from train to all these places? If so what kind of train pass I should buy (to save money)?

Thanks,
Allen
