Murren to Chamonix

We will be in the Berner Oberland for about eight days in late July/early August. We plan on buying eight day BO passes. From the pass map, it looks like the pass could be used to get to us to Brig at no cost, where we could then pay for the remainder of the trip at Brig. Does this sound feasible?

Thanks!

Definitely feasible!
But rather than going via Brig through the dull Lötschberg tunnel, you could go via the Zweisimmen-Montreux railway aka "Golden Pass". It is very scenic, and you would be covered until Saanen and 1/2 price thereafter to Montreux. You can sort out tickets locally at your starting point with the help of station staff if needed, no need to buy en route once you reach the edge of the "free" area.

The route would be Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken - Spiez - Zweisimmen - Montreux - Martigny - Vallorcine - Chamonix.
It looks daunting, but it really isn't (and only 1 additional transfer vs the route via Brig).

Thanks for the responses. I took the Mont Blanc Express a few years ago when going from Chamonix to Colmar, so I'm familiar with that route.

Would Lauterbrunnen or Interlaken Ost be the best station to figure out the appropriate ticketing for the entire journey?

You could probably get the ticket at either station. Lauterbrunnen would be more convenient, rather than an interruption at Interlaken on your travel day .

Also, you don't have to wait for your day of travel to figure it out, since you can buy tickets for any specific day. You'll probably pass through Lauterbrunnen quite a few times while in the Berner Oberland, and I would take advantage of that.
