Murren Specific Location Question

Hello,

This is a question for those familiar with Murren. It may not be an issue, but I have been told that some lodging locations in Murren have a high amount of pedestrian traffic in the front. Of these two locations, is one quieter than the other?

Thank you

The first one would likely be more quiet, however, the two times I stayed in Murren, the amount of foot traffic was not a big deal. If noise is your concern, staying at a place that has a bar open late will be the thing to look out for.

I've never been bothered by foot traffic in Mürren , even when staying at Denise's place which is pretty much the crossroads

There is really not much pedestrian traffic in Murren. Even less at night when you want quiet. I would base my selection on factors other than that.

The first one appears to be in the lower part of the village, off the main tourist walkway through town. But it appears to be close enough to the Cablecar station that construction noise from the ongoing project could be an issue.

The lower has the pin right on top of the Sportzentrum. Is this an apartment near there? The Sportzentrum itself is on the upper road, which leads to Hotel Jungfrau and the formerly-named Hotel Bellevue. We like that street; it has better views than the lower village area. There could be some noise around the Sportzentrum itself on festival weekends, such as the Mürren Dorffest the first weekend in August.

Thank you for the replies.
Lola, the second location is at the Sportzentrum or adjacent to it. Are the views better at this location?

Views depend on what buildings are across the street and below you. I cannot recall what the view is like from the Sportzentrum itself, but at ground level there may not be much. Higher up, like 2d floor, maybe so. Are you renting an apartment there? The rental portal should show you photos of the views.

Our favorite apartment is a bit further up that same street, near Hotel Jungfrau. We had lovely views of the peaks across the valley from our balcony. And we could watch the little Allemendhübel funicular ascend and descend.

Lola, The apartment is on the first floor. There are photos and they seem a bit limited in expanse and distance of view, nonetheless very nice. Do you find your apartment through a local rental site or airbnb (or similar)?
Thank you

We just got back from Murren and stayed at an Aibnb one or two buildings away from your first link. Pedestrians were not the issue; construction noise from the new Schilthorn cable car they are building was. We had a construction crane smack in the middle of our view from the apt, and noise from the crane plus construction trucks going right by the apt was irksome.

Just returned from Murren. Because of the construction on the new lift, there is construction vehicle traffic about every couple of minutes down the Main Street. It is hard to walk and the construction vehicles are loud and wide enough that everyone has to move to the sides. It doesn't do much for the ambiance.
