My young adult daughters and I will be spending 4 nights in Mürren mid-May. We realize that trails at higher elevations will probably be closed. Could someone who has been there at that time of year give us an idea of what trails might be accessible for walking? We are packing light, so should sports/walking shoes be OK? We understand that a lot will depend on the weather at that time.

Medium elevation trails will be 50/50 as far as being open and the higher level trails almost certainly closed. But there will still be lots of great low-level trails open. The tourist office in Lauterbrunnen or the hotel will have details when you arrive.
