Mürren lodging recommendations

Greetings Fellow Travelers!
Looking at a June or September 2027 Switzerland trip with most time spent doing day hikes in the OB. I think I've settled on Mürren as home base for 4-5 nights. We like a comfortable bed for 2, our own bathroom, and some ability to make and store food (mini fridge or standard, some dishes maybe, is a microwave ridiculous? If so, a burner and pan for heating would be nice). We do not need posh. View for sure. Quiet at night for sleeping (quiet for resting in the day would be deluxe). I figure anywhere in town is walking distance from restaurants, train, cable car, co-op, trailheads (?)
Thanks!

We really enjoyed Chalet Fontana. Traditional chalet style with amazing view from the second floor rooms over the valley to the Eiger/Monch/Jungfrau. Its been a few years, but I seem to remember there is a communal kitchen.

I like Chalet Fontana too, but it fails for the OP because unless something has changed recently none of the rooms has a private bathroom, except the separate apartment. There is one common bathroom downstairs (small) and a slightly larger one upstairs.

Thank you, Darrenblois and Nigel,
I've realized my R.S. guidebook is 2023, and a number of the lodgings have gone to Airbnb platform, including Chalet Fontana. I'm not averse to booking through Airbnb, but it takes some sleuthing to map R.S. descriptions to Airbnb lodging. I would like to support locals, which isn't as obvious to see on Airbnb vs R.S. book. I plan to check his online updates and likely order his 2025 guidebook. The next one doesn't come out until September 2027 when I will hopefully already be in the OB.

Thanks Renee,
It looks like the choice for two with a mountain view at Hotel Alpenruh has two twins beds pushed together, rather than one full sized bed? Did you have a refrigerator or microwave?

two twins beds pushed together,

that's very common throughout Europe. If the twins are 1 metre wide each that makes the total width 2m, a king sized

A vote for Hotel Eidelweiss Superior. Very good restaurant, the rooms i have used meet all your requirements. Family owned and managed. Three weeks past 2 years, no complaints. Awesome views. King beds, nice showers, breakfast and you are correct every thing is at most ten minutes. They will come get you at the train station with the "golf" cart if needed, but is a 5 minute walk. You may call/book direct with Claudia!

Almost all “double” beds in Europe are 2 twins pushed together. Euro style beds have 2 separate mattresses & 2 separate duvet blankets. Once you sleep this way you’ll never want to go back to American style king beds.

Thanks for explaining about the beds.

I'm leaning toward a studio or one-room apartment. We don't need the cost or space of places with 2+ bedrooms. Seeking comfortable bed for 2, kitchen, bathroom with hot shower, mountain view from bed and living space, low key (not fancy or touristy), quiet at night for sleeping.

Looking forward to your recommendations!

Also, has anyone stayed at Chalet Bob's? It might fit our needs, but photos aren't convincing me.

Thanks!
