Mürren in May - when to go

We’ve been to Mürren a couple of times before in warmer months and enjoyed hiking and exploring the trails in relatively warmer weather, with wildflowers blooming and cattle grazing around us.

We’d like to visit again next May, as soon as some obligations with work are done in early May.

Is mid-May too soon to go to the area to experience somewhat warmer weather, or should we put it off until later in May (or early June)?

Probability best to check when the lifts in the Murren/ Wengen area open.
Have a great time in this beautiful area.
Safe travels!

We went in Mid May several years ago & it was perfect. Temps during the day were in the upper 60s. Lots of daffodils too.

I want to say May, only because I’m going in June and I’d like fewer people 😊, but June is definitely the better month to go. And if you could do the second week in June or later, that would be even better. One of my favorite walks, männlichen to kleine scheidegg, typically opens mid-June.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I think we’ll plan for the very end of May/early June, as we have other things going on in mid-June.

I really appreciate the links to the trail descriptions and statuses, and all of the other input!

I think that's a very good choice, Bobby

I have been very happy there at that time of year.

We went in late June. It was beautiful in Murren, but there was still too much snow even then up at Schilthhorn if you wanted to hike down from there. We had to go down to Birg and hike down from there, but that was still fantastic.
