We are planning a trip to Murren Switzerland with arrival on October 26 for 3 nights. I’m finding some hotels are closed already. Is this a bad time to go due to the weather or what? Is the Schilthorn restaurant closed at that time too and is the gondola up to the Schilthorn closed as well? We are now thinking maybe we do Lucerne for these 3 nights and just take a one day train from Lucerne to Lauterbrunnen, then if Schilthorn is open, take the ride up there for the day. We are actually staying in Fussen prior to making the train trip to Lucerne or Lauterbrunnen. Any thoughts on what you would do would be appreciated.

Next year? No, the Schilthorn transport doesn't close for maintenance until the period of Nov. 12-Dec. 7, 2018. However, it is closed now, along with some hotels, so those hotels are not yet taking bookings for a year away.
