Trying to fit a week in Switzerland into an early December Christmas markets trip. Planned on Murren three nights, Dec 3-6. I've emailed the Eiger, the Edelweiss, and the Bellevue, and all three are closed until later in December. Pretty sure I could find an Airbnb, but this seems a bad sign. Is Murren too sleepy in early December?? Now thinking the Schilthornbahn cable car might still be in maintenance season. What do you think?

Schilthornbahn from Muerren to Piz Gloria (top) will be closed for maintenance from Nov 12 to Dec 7.

Thanks, Sam. Rethinking this. I could easily move the Lauterbrunnen Valley nights until after Dec 7. Will Murren be too "dead" in very early December, even after the 7th? Would a larger town be better? I don't know this part of Switzerland at all. Don't want to find myself there in totally the wrong time of year! Need help!
