I am going to be in the Jungfrau region during the first week in June and I am planning to stay in Murren but as I am researching I am finding that the construction will be going then and even causing some closures, Would it be better to switch to Wengen because of the disruption?
There is construction, but it’s not causing closures in June. They are building/remodeling a hotel near the train station/Sportzentrum (Alpin Palace) and doing extensive work on the Schilthornbahn while it continues to run. The new train from Grutschalp opens June 1. The Allmendhubel is closed until June 15. Over at Wengen the Mannlichen Cable car opens May 25.
Thanks you Wanderweg. I have not reserved the hotel yet but have considered the Eiger Murren Hotel. Should I stick with that or reserve in Wengen instead? I am planning excursions from both towns.
There is no construction in front of the Hotel Eiger in Murren. I can’t say for sure because I don’t know your full itinerary, but I can say your view isn’t impeded by construction at that hotel. And there is construction in Wengen too. It’s a popular area and things are being built everywhere.
