Mt Rigi round trip, train both ways

We want to visit Rigi using the train going both up and down. Our plan is to take the boat from Lucerne to Vitznau and then the train to the top. I can't seem to find online info about "what's at the top". My understanding is there are various places to eat. Are they within walking distance from where we'll get off the train? Secondly, is there a different route back down the mountain using only the train (we aren't interested in the cable car). I understand there is a train from Arth Goldau. Is that a possibility? Thanks for your help and if you can share any links to what we can expect at the top of the mountain, that would be great!

UPDATE: So I just finally found this map https://www.siscontrol.ch/v007/sismap/rigi/0?season=1&seasonFilter=hide. It looks to me like we can either take the same train or hike from Rigi Kulum down to Rigi Kaltbad and then hop on the train to continue the trip down to Vitznau. Is that correct?

There is a small cafe and souvenir shop right at the platform at Rigi Kulm. There is a passageway to a hotel there, which I did not visit. Yes, you can hike down to Rigi Staffel and take the train to Arth-Goldau, (or the train to Vitznau), or continue down to Kaltbad for the train down to Vitznau.

Thanks, Sam! Now that I have looked at the map a bit more, I don't think we'll go over to Arth Goldau. I mistakenly thought that was another way down the mountain to the lake. Can you tell me anything about the walk going down to the train station to Vitznau? My husband and I are in great shape except I have a bad knee that doesn't like steep inclines going downhill.

You can easily walk to a restaurant at the top. There are two tracks there. To go back down to Vitznau, you just hop on the correct train, and it goes to Vitznau. Or, if you hop on the other train, it goes down the other side of the mountain, to Arth Goldau. Personally, I think the Arth-Goldau direction is a bit more scenic. You'd then be at the Arth Goldau station, and you can take an elevator 2 levels down to the main train station, and take a train back to Brunnen, or wherever.

I did not hike it, but you can get a good idea using Google Streetview. Although it is not continuous, there are photo points along the way to give you an idea. The trail follows the train line down to Staffelhoehe then diverges, following a gentle ridge line with great views of the lake. At the end of the ridge line the trail uses switchbacks past a "grill point" descending to an overlook point above Weggis, then a fairly gentle trail to Kaltbad.
