Hi Everyone—
As part of my April 2020 trip, I plan to visit Mt. Rigi while in Lucerne. I’d like to take the train up from Vitznau and then the cable car down to Weggis. What I can’t figure out is how to get from the train station on Mt. Rigi to the cable car station that will take us down to Weggis. Does anyone know the distance between the two? And is it safe to assume there will be signs directing the way?

Leaving Mt Rigi (Rigi Kulm) you have to get off at Rigi Kaltbad-First to catch the cable car

Thank you Jazz!!!! Now i get it. I was looking for the cable car station at the top of the mountain thinking it was something we had to walk to. I'm looking at the map of Rigi now and see where they both are. Thanks again!! :)
Yes I was there last May
The train takes you back down to the cable car, but I would suggest walking from Rigi Klum to the cable car station. It follows the train tracks and is an easy downhill walk with plenty for nice views.. Yes, well marked. Maybe 45 minutes???
Thanks for the additional info. It’s very helpful!! This is the detailed info. that I like to have figured out ahead of time. I know where I want to go, but what’s the best way to get there. Although, being lost on a mountain looking for a cable car is probably not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
Just be aware that if you go down via Weggis, you have a VERY steep and not short downhill walk to the boat dock. If you or your knees are not up for this, go back via Vitznau instead, where it is almost level and very close to get from the train to the boat dock.
Thanks Harold!! Maybe we should just go up and down via Vitznau. A steep walk might be too much for my traveling companions. Good information everyone. I appreciate all the responses.
There are buses from the boat dock to the cable car in Weggis, if you can't or won't walk.
