Hello!
I've been reading up about Lucerne and see that some shops and attractions are not fully open on Sundays, is this true for restaurant/transportation in and around Mt. Pilatus?
We are looking to visit Mt. Pilatus from Lucerne in mid-May and might have to go on Sunday, will anything be affected by this? I am not sure how we are getting around I have seen there are a few different routes to and from Lucerne to get to the Mt. Piltatus and want to make sure public transit is not affected, we would go during the day, not crazy late or early.
How far in advance is weather dependable to choose a day to go? We are going in mid-May and would like to pre-plan but do we need to wait until just weeks out to know if it will be a clear day?
Thank you for any suggestions/help!!
Here is the current transportation schedule

The earlier you go in the day the better The clouds tend to roll end closer to noon time.
Since it costs so much I would look at the weather 3 days in advance.
I wouldn't try to plan so closely that you waste a good weather day because you have something else planned. Check the weather every day and go if it looks OK. Weather is too unpredictable in the mountains anywhere to depend on forecasts weeks, days or hours ahead of time. Its not the public transit that is the issue, its whether it is too cloudy on top to see anything.
That is why it is good to go the earliest time; if its foggy you have more options to do the rest of the day.
